project SV650 - TZ250 seat

Since I was working with the angle grinder I thought let's start with the TZ250 seat
Made a nice poop hole because I didn't need the bump in the sitting area. Shaped the side of the seat roughly in the shape that I want it to be. Will fine tune it when I've got the new sub frame. Will have to extend the front of the seat with 5 cm to have some more space.
Not so sure about the defender rear light. It looks good from the back but from the side it's sticking out to much. Plan B is on the Japanese ebay right now. Let's hope I'll win that rear light :)
Here's a mock up from two weeks ago in photosoup.

Project SV650 - fender

Suzuki is world champion in designing ugly front fenders.
One look at the Hayabusa, VStrom 650, The GW250, or the GSR750 makes you wanne kill your self, aaaahhh!!! But luckily god invented the angle grinder

The stock SV650 fender also got beaten with the ugly stick. It's so wrong, it's almost brilliant.
Cut it yesterday. First I made a line with tape. Cut the front first and than
a little bit from the side on the back. Cleaned and sandpapered it and today I painted it black  with a rattle can.
Amazing how such a small change in design improves the look. Much better don't you think?
Suzuki are you taking notes? Ha!

Kevin Baas Rippled Wheel Covers for sale

I'm having a spring sale.
Need cash to work work on the Townsmoker and project SV650 :)

"Kevin Baas Rippled Wheel Covers: 15" rippled wheel disk that is modified to fit on a 16" starhub motocycle wheel. The 2 covers bolt together around the wheel with threaded spacers in between and chrome button head allen bolts. Can be used on the front or rear tires."

Never used
Kevin sells them for 350 dollar
I'm selling them for 200 euro
They fit perfectly on my GR650 16" rear wheel but I changed plans.

Bought a new rear 18" rim for it.

Project SV650

Today I attached the Landrover Defender rear light to the TZ250 seat and I made a numberplate holder at the arc welding course i'm doing at the moment :)
Next move is trimming the seat and extending it a few centimeters with fiberglass on the front so I'll have some more space.

Project SV650 - TZ250 seat

Got some insurance money last week.
Had a little crash on the SV650 with a blind idiot in a car.
He didn't see me riding in clear daylight.
Nothing serious, dent in my gas tank and some scratches on my side panel and a broken gear shifter.
Right now I'm glad he did not see me cause now I have the funds to chop my SV.
Gonna use the cash to turn my SV in a classic endurance inspired daily rider :) Had the plan since I bought the thing but never had the cash but now I can stop dreaming and start making the thing. Bought a TZ250 seat a while ago. Just ordered Britpart Land Rover Devender tail light and the legend JerryT will make me a new alu gastank and the subframe for the TZ tail.

The seat is to big right now. The blu line is how I'm planning to cut it.

Trip to Wheels and Waves - Teusday - Hotel de France

From Atelier Chatokhine I headed South. Set my new navigation system(bought it on monday) on no highways or toll roads. Found out the middle of France between Paris and Biarritz is not very interesting. The landscape and roads are mostley boring. Dull town after dull town, straight roads, and at every round about straight ahead...

My plan was to go to Angoulême but at the end of the day I needed some interesting landscapes so I ignored my navigation and headed south east. The picture of the SV in front of the bridge is in Chabanaise. This is the only picture I have of the SV before the crash. Lost my phone with all the pictures a few hours after the crash, whoops!

Parc naturel regional du perigord limousin was my new destination and in the end I ended up in Hotel de France in Rochechouart. I arived there at ten. The kitchen was closed and all the restaurants in town where closed but luckily they still served a nice plateau du fromage.
